Singapore kick-started the T20I series with a thrashing margin of 125 runs in the 1st T20I to go 1-0 up in the three-match T20I series.

The Singaporean top-order initially struggled to get to the pace of the conditions on offer, after the home skipper Shafina Mahesh won the toss and opted to bat first in the 2nd game of the series. The home side found themselves in a tricky position at 56/3 in the 8th over of the innings. Gk Diviya joined the opening batter Devika Galia at the crease, and the duo switched gears with a crucial 42-run partnership for the 4th wicket to take their side closer to the 100-run mark.

Heal Theara broke the stand by sending the experienced GK Diviya (28* off 19 balls) back to the pavilion in the 13th over of the innings to provide the crucial 4th breakthrough for Cambodia. Piumi Gurusinghe (20* off 23 balls) joined Devika Galia at the crease, and the pair continued with the momentum of the innings by keeping the foot on the accelerator, taking them closer to the 140-run mark with another brisk 39-run partnership for the 5th wicket.

Singapore eventually posted a challenging total of 148/7 in their quota of 20 overs. Devika Galia top-scored (45 off 47 balls) with the bat, falling just 5 runs short of her gritty half-century. With extras as many as 29, it was the 2nd most contributing member for Singapore. Ly Saomakara (4-0-24-2), Loch Srey (4-0-24-2), and Sok Sreymao (4-0-23-0) were the top performers with the ball for Cambodia. Dok Da Nit (3-0-25-1) and Heal Theara (3-0-27-1) played their part with the ball for their side.

Chasing a stiff total of 149, the scoreboard pressure got the better of the visitors as they crumbled like a pack of nine pins, getting bundled out for just 34 runs in the 14th over of the run chase, with 40 balls to spare. As a result, Cambodia fell short of the target by 114 runs. Laasya Bommareddy (4-1-14-4), Haresh Dhavina (3.2-1-3-2), Roshni Sheth (3-0-5-2), and skipper Shafina Mahesh (3-0-12-2) were absolutely spot on with their lines and lengths and as a result, were exceptional with the ball for the home side Singapore.

Laasya Bommareddy was awarded the Player of the Match for her exceptional (4-1-14-4) spell with the ball, playing a crucial role in helping Singapore seal another massive 114-run win to clinch the three-match T20I series with a game to go.
