Batting first, the Northern Superchargers Women got off to a dream start, thanks to a blistering knock from teenage sensation Davina Perrin. She lit up the big stage with a breathtaking 101 off just 43 balls, smashing 15 fours and 5 sixes at an astonishing strike rate of 234.88.

Perrin was well supported initially by Alice Davidson-Richards, who chipped in with 18 (15), before being run out. Phoebe Litchfield then carried the momentum forward, striking a quickfire 35 off 19 balls, with 4 boundaries and 2 sixes. The innings also saw a late cameo from Nicola Carey, who blasted 31 off just 12 deliveries, including 5 fours and a six, striking at 258.33.

Despite losing wickets at regular intervals in the latter stages – including skipper Hollie Armitage for a duck – the Superchargers piled on a daunting 214/5 in their 100 balls.

For London Spirit, the bowlers had no answer to the relentless hitting. Issy Wong (0/26) and Sarah Glenn (1/33) bowled with discipline, while Charlie Dean picked up 1/37. However, the rest of the attack was taken apart, with Charli Knott conceding 40 runs in just 15 balls (1/40).

Chasing 215 for victory, London Spirit Women were under pressure right from the start. They lost Grace Harris for a duck in the opening over to Grace Ballinger. Though Kira Chathli struck a six in her 6 off 3 balls, she too departed quickly, leaving Spirit reeling at 7/2. Cordelia Griffith tried to stabilize the innings with a spirited 29 off 17, but her dismissal further dented the chase.

Charli Knott then played a counter-attacking innings, hammering 40 off just 16 deliveries with 7 boundaries and a six, keeping her side in the hunt. However, once she fell to Nicola Carey, the Spirit innings lost all momentum. The only resistance came from wicketkeeper Georgia Redmayne, who stood tall amidst the collapse, scoring an unbeaten 50 off 29 balls with 8 fours. But she ran out of partners as wickets kept tumbling around her.

Skipper Charlie Dean added 18, but none of the others could offer support, and Spirit eventually managed only 172/9 in their 100 balls, falling short by 42 runs.

The Superchargers’ bowlers executed their plans superbly, with Grace Ballinger being the standout performer, claiming 3/22 in her 20 balls. Annabel Sutherland (3/40) and Nicola Carey (1/40) also chipped in, while Kate Cross bowled a tight spell of 2/29. Their combined effort ensured that London Spirit never got close to the target despite Redmayne’s fight.

In the end, it was the brilliance of Davina Perrin’s century that set the tone and Grace Ballinger’s three wickets that sealed the game. Northern Superchargers Women clinched the final convincingly, winning by 42 runs, and lifting the title in grand style.

With this commanding win over the Spirit, the Northern Superchargers have secured their place in The Final, where they will face Southern Brave. The Brave, unbeaten in the league stage with a perfect record of 8 wins from 8 matches, had already earned a direct entry into the summit clash.
