The countdown to the Super Three of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier 2025 is underway as three teams vie for two coveted sports at the Global Qualifier. The table toppers of each Group have shown exceptional skill and prowess in the game.
Nine teams competed in the tournament which was set in Bangkok, Thailand. The tournament commenced on 9 May for the two available spots in the Global Qualifier. Now, three teams – United Arab Emirates (UAE), Thailand and Nepal are all set to lock in their vision for their final tickets to the 2026 Women’s T20 World Cup in England.

Despite persistent rainfall affecting the schedule and leading to multiple match abandonments, the Qualifiers proved to be the much-anticipated tournament. Among the standout performers, both Thailand and UAE showcased flawless campaigns, remaining unbeaten in the group stages.
Thailand women playing in their home soil, demonstrated impressive consistency. Beginning with an 8-wicket victory against Kuwait and following up with a 45-run win against Bhutan in a rain-curtailed game.
Meanwhile, the UAE women’s team delivered a string of dominant performances. They launched their campaign with a commanding 9-wicket win over Malaysia. Yet the highlight came in the match against Qatar, where UAE shocked the cricket world with their strategic move of retiring out all their batters and securing a thumping 163-run victory.
Nepal’s journey though less smooth reflected resilience and grit. After their opening match was washed out, Nepal bounced back with a clinical 9-wicket win over Bahrain. A defeat to Hong Kong put pressure on their qualification hopes, but the team responded by again defeating Bahrain via the DLS method.
Taking a glance at their T20Is records, Thailand women’s cricket team has been a formidable force in recent years. They have played 107 WT20Is, achieving 70 wins and 35 loses. The UAE team has shown remarkable progress, winning 59 of their 97 games and losing 35. Nepal’s women’s team has been making significant strides. They have played 73 WT20Is, securing wins in 43 and losing 29.
