Alice Capsey Surpasses 1,000 International Runs Milestone for England

The young 20-year-old England all-rounder Alice Capsey made her international debut in a T20I on 23rd July 2022 at the age of 17 Years and 346 days against South Africa in the 2nd T20I at County Ground, New Road, Worcester. She scored her maiden half-century (50 off 37 balls) in the format on 2nd August 2022 against South Africa in the 7th match of the Commonwealth Games 2022.

She has scored 711 runs at an impressive strike rate of 118.50 and a decent average of 20.91 in 37 innings with the bat for her side so far in the T20I format. Her tally of runs includes four half-centuries in the format for her side so far. Her best performance with the bat for England came on 11th July 2024 against New Zealand in the 3rd T20I.

She scored an uncharacteristic, unbeaten half-century (67* off 60 balls) to guide her side over the line with 6 wickets in hand and four balls to spare at the St Lawrence Ground, Canterbury. She was also awarded the Player of the Match for her brilliant innings with the bat for her side.

She made her ODI debut on 18th September 2022 against India in the 1st ODI at the County Ground, Hove. She scored 19 (28 balls) in her debut innings with the bat for her side. She has scored 307 runs in 18 innings at a strike rate of 75.80 and an average of 19.18 with the bat for her side in the ODI format.

The England team, led by skipper Nat Sciver-Brunt, is currently hosting the West Indies, led by skipper Hayley Matthews, for a three-match T20I series, followed by a three-match ODI series. England whitewashed the visitors (3-0) in the T20Is.

Alice Capsey came into the ODI side as a replacement for the injured Heather Knight in the 3rd T20I at the County Ground, Chelmsford. She has achieved a remarkable landmark as she completes 1,000 runs at the international level for England. She completed the landmark in the 44th over of the innings, when she smashed a cracking boundary on the 4th ball of the over to Karishma Ramharack.

Alice Capsey (24 off 19 balls) was dismissed in the final over of the innings by Aaliyah Alleyne. England eventually posted a massive total of 345/6 in their quota of 50 overs. She then chipped in with the ball, picking the wicket of Windies top-scorer Qiana Joseph, as England registered a dominant 108-run win.
