India Women vs Malaysia Women
(1st Match, Kuala Lumpur, June 03, 2018, Women’s Twenty20 Asia Cup)
India registered their biggest-ever T20I victory with a commanding 142-run win over Malaysia in the 2018 Women’s Asia Cup. Batting first, India posted a formidable total of 169/3, largely to a masterclass batting showcase from Mithali Raj, who remained unbeaten on 97* off 69 balls. Her knock, laced with finesse and intent, came at a strike rate of 140.57 and anchored the innings from start to finish. In reply, Malaysia crumbled under pressure, folding for just 27 runs, with no batter reaching double figures.
India’s bowlers delivered a clinical performance, collectively sending down five maiden overs. Medium-pacer Pooja Vastrakar was the pick of the attack, scalping 3 for 6 in 3 overs, while Poonam Yadav spun a web with 2 wickets for 0 runs in her 2-over spell. Malaysia was reduced to 12 for 5 within the first five overs, and the trio of Winifred Duraisingam, Sasha Azmi and Zumika Azmi showed brief resistance, but failed to convert it into meaningful contributions.
India Women vs United Arab Emirates Women
(8th Match, Sylhet, October 04, 2022, Women’s Asia Cup)
India Women cruised to a thumping 104-run victory over UAE in the 2022 Women’s Asia Cup, with a brilliant recovery led by Jemimah Rodrigues and Deepti Sharma at the Academy Ground in Sylhet. With regular captain Harmanpreet Kaur rested, Smriti Mandhana took over the reins. However, India was off to a shaky start after opener Richa Ghosh fell for a duck. What followed was a stunning 128-run partnership between Rodrigues and Sharma, which not only stabilized the innings but also laid the foundation for a commanding total of 178/5.
Rodrigues continued her rich vein of form from the tournament opener, playing fluently for her 75 off 45 balls, including three consecutive boundaries off Mughal in the final over of the powerplay. Deepti Sharma, too, was in sublime touch, notching up her maiden T20I fifty with a powerful heave over wide long-on. She finished with a composed 64 off 49 balls, finding gaps effortlessly and rotating the strike to perfection.
In reply, UAE never really found their footing. Struggling to adjust to the pace and turn of the pitch, they crawled to 74/4 in their 20 overs. Only Kavisha Egodage showed some resistance with an unbeaten 30*, but it was far from enough against a disciplined Indian bowling attack. This dominant 104-run win is India’s second-largest margin of victory in T20Is.
India Women vs Barbados Women
(10th Match, Group A (D/N), Birmingham, August 03, 2022, Commonwealth Games)
India Women produced a commanding performance to defeat Barbados by 100 runs in their final group-stage clash at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, securing a place in the semi-finals with authority. Sent into bat, India posted an imposing 162/4, with a composed unbeaten 56* from Jemimah Rodrigues and a handy 34* off 28 by Deepti Sharma. Despite an early blow with Smriti Mandhana falling cheaply and Richa Ghosh dismissed for 5, Shafali Verma injected momentum with a rapid 43 off 26 balls, setting the stage for India’s acceleration.
Chasing 163, Barbados never found their footing as Renuka Singh tore through the top order with a stunning spell of 4/10 (4), restricting Barbados to just 62/8 in their 20 overs. Kyshona Knight (16) was the only batter to show some resistance, as India’s disciplined bowling strangled the scoring and choked any hopes of a fightback.
India Women vs England Women
(1st T20I, Nottingham, June 28, 2025, India Women tour of England)
India delivered a breathtaking and clinical performance to thrash England by 97 runs, England’s heaviest T20I defeat. Opting to field first, England were soon put to the sword as Smriti Mandhana, standing in as captain, smashed a majestic 112 off 62 balls, her maiden T20I century and a historic milestone as the first Indian woman to score hundreds in all three formats. Alongside her, Harleen Deol (43) shared a stellar 94‑run partnership that propelled India to a formidable 210/5, their second‑highest total in T20Is.
England’s reply unravelled quickly. A valiant 66 from Nat Sciver‑Brunt proved insufficient as the rest of the batting lineup collapsed under pressure. Debutant Shree Charani starred with 4 wickets for 12 in 3.5 overs, delivering the best bowling figures by an Indian woman on T20I debut. They were bowled out for 113 in just 14.5 overs, handing India a dominant win by 97 runs.
India Women vs West Indies Women
(1st T20I (N), Gros Islet, November 09, 2019, India Women tour of West Indies)
India Women kicked off their T20I series against West Indies in spectacular fashion with a dominant 84-run victory in the opening match at Gros Islet, St Lucia, on November 9, 2019. Batting first, India put up a daunting total of 185/4 in their 20 overs with a record-breaking 143-run opening partnership between Shafali Verma and Smriti Mandhana. It was a coming-of-age innings for the then 15-year-old Shafali, who stunned the Caribbean crowd with a fearless knock of 73 off 49 deliveries, laced with 6 fours and 4 sixes.
At the other end, Smriti Mandhana was equally fluent, scoring 67 off 46 balls, striking eleven crisp boundaries and making run-scoring look effortless. The duo’s stand became India’s highest-ever opening partnership in Women’s T20Is, setting the tone for a series India would go on to dominate.
In response, West Indies Women never looked settled. Their chase faltered early, and wickets fell at regular intervals. Only Shemaine Campbelle offered some resistance with a gritty 33 off 34, but she lacked support from the other end. The Indian bowling unit, operating with discipline and variation, proved too strong for the hosts. Radha Yadav, Shikha Pandey, Poonam Yadav, and Pooja Vastrakar each picked up a wicket. West Indies were eventually restricted to 101/9, falling well short of the target.
India’s all-round performance led by an explosive opening stand, tight bowling and sharp fielding highlighted their growing dominance in the T20 format. It was also a historic moment for Shafali Verma, who became the youngest Indian to score a T20I fifty, etching her name into the record books.
