Malaysia, led by skipper Elsa Hunter, is hosting a domestic side from India, Assam, led by skipper Rashmi Dey, for a five-match One-Day series from 7th to 15th July 2025.

Malaysia posted a competitive total of 148, with 10 overs to spare, after skipper Rashmi Dey won the toss and inserted them to bat first in the 1st One Day at Bayuemas Oval, Kuala Lumpur. Skipper Elsa Hunter was the lone warrior with the bat for her side, staying unbeaten on 79* (86 balls).
The 36-run partnership for the 6th wicket between Nur Dania Syuhada and skipper Elsa Hunter was the highest partnership of the innings for Malaysia. Ainna Hashim (18 off 38 balls) and Nur Dania Syuhada (12 off 22 balls) chipped in with crucial contributions with the bat for their side.
Nirupama Baro (6-1-17-3), skipper Rashmi Dey (7-1-25-2), Urmila Chatterjee (5-0-17-1) and Monikha Das (7-0-16-2) were the top performers with the ball for Assam.
Chasing a target of 149, Assam got over the line with 6 wickets in hand and more than 22 overs to spare. Khushi Sharma (59 off 59 balls), Amontika Munda (41 off 60 balls), and Monikha Das (32* off 26 balls) were the top performers with the bat for Assam. The 103-run partnership for the 2nd wicket between Khushi Sharma and Amontika Munda was the highest partnership of the run chase.
Suabika Manivannan (4-0-15-1), Marsya Qistina Abdullah (4-0-22-2), and skipper Elsa Hunter (3.1-0-23-1) were the top performers with the ball for Malaysia.
Monikha Das was awarded the Player of the Match for her impressive all-round performance, returning with match figures (7-0-16-2) with the ball, and also scoring an unbeaten (32* off 26 balls) with the bat to guide her side over the line in the run chase. Assam took a 1-0 lead in the 5-match One Day series.
