Radha Yadav Praises “Magical” Team Atmosphere After India Clinch Historic T20I Series Win in England

India’s tour of England in July 2025 will forever be remembered as a turning point in the history of Indian women’s cricket. The team secured their first-ever T20I series victory on English soil, taking an unassailable 3-1 lead in the five-match series with a dominant win at Old Trafford, Manchester.

Leading the charge was 25-year-old left-arm spinner Radha Yadav, who delivered a Player of the Match performance in the fourth T20I. Her spell of 2/15 played a crucial role in restricting England to just 126/7 in their 20 overs.

Radha, now a veteran of four ICC Women’s T20 World Cups, spoke passionately after the match about the energy within the Indian camp.

“The belief and the dedication this time is really different,” Radha said. “This team, this atmosphere – it’s magical. We are actually onto something. We want to create something big going forward. There’s still a lot we have to correct, but this is a different team, and we are going to dominate no matter what.”

India’s all-round performance has been evident throughout the series. While they had registered a memorable T20I win over England back in 2006, a full-fledged series victory had remained elusive—until now.

Meanwhile, England, missing the leadership and experience of Nat Sciver-Brunt and Heather Knight, struggled in the crucial moments. Their batting lacked punch in the middle overs, and the team could not build enough momentum to challenge a confident Indian side.

However, England’s newly appointed head coach Charlotte Edwards remained positive.

“As long as we are looking to get better, I’m not going to panic,” Edwards said. “We’re a team in transition. It’s not going to happen overnight. But hopefully, we have a bit of time. You’ll hopefully see an improved team in the ODI World Cup come October.”

The fifth and final T20I will be played in Birmingham on July 12, giving both teams a final opportunity to test their combinations ahead of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025, which will be held in India and Sri Lanka.
