Schedule Announced: Women’s National Cricket League 2025-26 To Get Underway on September 24

On Monday, July 14, Cricket Australia announced the schedule for the upcoming 2025-26 Women’s National Cricket League (WNCL) season.

The premier 50-over domestic competition is set to kick off on September 24, with Western Australia facing Queensland Fire in a day-night match at the WACA Ground. Meanwhile, other opening-round games will feature Victoria hosting New South Wales Breakers and South Australia Scorpions taking on Tasmania Tigers.

The 2025-26 WNCL season will resume on January 6 after Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) 11, with three rounds to be played before Australia’s only home international series of the summer, a multi-format contest against India that begins on February 15.

The fifth and sixth rounds of the WNCL games will take place alongside the multi-format series against India, which concludes with a day-night Test at the WACA from March 6 to 9. The final round is scheduled for March 12 to 15, with the championship match to follow on Saturday, March 21.

New South Wales Breakers is the most successful team in WNCL history, having won the championship 21 times. They are also the reigning champions, having defeated Queensland Fire by 21 runs in the final of the 2024-25 season.
Tahlia Wilson led the way with the bat for New South Wales, finishing as the season’s top run-scorer. She amassed 667 runs at an average of nearly 56, scoring two half-centuries and two centuries across 13 matches for the Breakers.
Representing South Australia Scorpions, leg-spinner Amanda-Jade Wellington topped the bowling charts in the 2024-25 WNCL season, claiming 29 wickets in 12 matches while maintaining an economy rate of 5.04. She picked up two 4-wicket hauls during the campaign, with her best figures of 4 for 29 coming against Tasmania Tigers.
