The 2025 Women’s Hundred season has been one of the most competitive yet, with several teams in contention for the playoffs until the final round of matches. Throughout the tournament, fans witnessed spectacular batting displays, tactical bowling spells, and thrilling run-chases that kept the points table volatile and the qualification scenarios complex.
The excitement was reflected in record crowds and vibrant atmospheres at grounds across England, as the league continued to showcase the growing profile of women’s franchise cricket.

London Spirit – 8 Games, 5 Wins, 3 Losses
London Spirit Women navigated a season of ups and downs, starting shakily but rallying as the group stage progressed. With the help of Charlie Dean’s accurate bowling and Georgia Redmayne’s composed batting, their campaign took off with a decisive eight-wicket victory over the defending champions, Oval Invincibles. The Spirit’s bowling attack, featuring Eva Gray and Dean, excelled at causing collapses, keeping targets within reach despite occasional batting wobbles.
Spirit showcased their tenacity in crucial fixtures, rising to the challenge when elimination threatened. Their final wins propelled them into third spot, aided by timely contributions from Kira Chathli and innovative use of their bowling depth. While not always dominant, London Spirit repeatedly proved capable of seizing the moment—especially in must-win situations—securing their place in the knockout stages and setting up a rematch with Northern Superchargers in the Eliminator.
Northern Superchargers – 8 Games, 6 Wins, 2 Losses
Northern Superchargers Women built their campaign on disciplined bowling and reliable contributions from their top order. Early victories set the tone, notably their comprehensive thrashing of Birmingham Phoenix where Phoebe Litchfield scored a rapid, unbeaten half-century and bowlers Lucy Higham and Linsey Smith applied crucial pressure.
Even though their team hasn’t been at their most impressive yet, they were able to gain points and move up the table thanks to their acquisition of foreign talent like Annabel Sutherland, whose all-around abilities were particularly impressive in close games.
After mid-season stumbles, the Superchargers recovered, with Annabel Sutherland and Nicola Carey starring in decisive matches to ensure a playoff berth. Their final league win against Manchester Originals was emblematic: Sutherland (3-15) and Carey (2-13) led a bowling attack that dismantled the opposition, while Alice Davidson-Richards anchored the chase—her calm under pressure earning her “Player of the Match”.
Southern Brave – 7 Games, 7 Wins
Southern Brave Women delivered a flawless and commanding campaign, remaining unbeaten through the group stage (7 wins). Their mixture of explosive batting—led by stars like Laura Wolvaardt—and clinical bowling ensured the top position and direct qualification to the final. Notably, their decisive victory over London Spirit confirmed their supremacy, cruising to the final with the most wins in the league.
What set Southern Brave apart this season was their ability to maintain performance under pressure, displaying the depth and balance that eluded them in previous years. Bowlers such as Lauren Bell, the highlight of their season, the leading wicket taker (15), and Mady Villiers consistently took early wickets, while Maia Bouchier strengthened the top order. The team’s recovery from last year’s disappointing finish to become this season’s title favorites was testament to their resilience, improved strategy, and effective leadership.
The 2025 Women’s Hundred has been a celebration of tenacity, tactical cricket, and improving standards. Southern Brave’s unbeaten run stands as a benchmark, while Northern Superchargers and London Spirit have both demonstrated remarkable adaptability and skill to secure playoff spots. The approaching Eliminator and Final promise gripping contests, with each team equipped to etch their legacy in the league’s vibrant history.
