Champions Crowned and Barriers Broken at Her Game, Her Rules School Cricket, Mumbai, in Partnership with Female Cricket and The Right Pitch
The “Her Game Her Rules” School Cricket Tournament, held on 26th August 2025 in Mumbai, exemplified the power of opportunity and inclusivity for young female cricketers. Organised by Female Cricket in collaboration with The Right Pitch, the event featured 14 spirited teams, memorable individual performances, and the crowning of Anjuman BSK C as champions. Beyond sport, the tournament spotlighted wellness, sanitation awareness, and cross-industry partnerships, setting a benchmark for the women’s sports ecosystem.

Tournament Overview
The “Her Game Her Rules” School Cricket Tournament brought together fourteen school teams from across Mumbai, providing a vibrant showcase for young female cricketers aged 10–16. Group A comprised Anjuman BSK C, Anjuman BSK B, Anjuman BSK A, Calm Crushers (Tawheed) led by Shaziya Khan, Shiv Shakti Warriors captained by Megha Agrawal, I Teach Nerul, Gurukul, and Public School. Group B included Mcgm A, Zeel, Indian Glory, Rozario A, Rozario B, and Mcgm B. Each team participated in two league matches within their respective groups, laying the foundation for a competitive tournament filled with energy and promise. The format ensured every squad had meaningful opportunities to play, hone their skills, and compete at a high level.
Road to Victory
The league stages saw spirited performances, especially from Anjuman BSK C, who topped their group with four points from two emphatic wins, thanks in part to major net run rate boosts. Anjuman BSK B followed closely, also collecting four points but relying on net run rate to secure second place. In Group B, Mcgm A established dominance with four points, while Zeel claimed second spot on the back of one win and one defeat.
When the knockout rounds arrived, Anjuman BSK B dispatched Calm Crushers (Tawheed) by eight wickets in the first semi-final. Anjuman BSK C continued their run by defeating Mcgm A with a winning margin of twenty-three runs in the second semi-final. The grand finale was a riveting contest between Anjuman BSK C and Anjuman BSK B. In a powerful performance, Anjuman BSK C clinched the championship with a twenty-three-run victory, lifting the tournament trophy and sealing an unforgettable journey.

Most Runs: Ansari Zainab Jamil
Ansari Zainab Jamil from Anjuman BSK B dazzled the tournament with her bat, emerging as the leading run-scorer. She compiled a total of 81 runs across four innings, maintaining a stellar average of 40.50 and an explosive strike rate of 245.45. Her calculated aggression and consistency proved invaluable for her team’s advancement, earning her the coveted Orange Cap for her remarkable achievement.
Purple Cap: Afsara
Afsara from Gurukul distinguished herself in the bowling department, claiming three wickets over a couple of matches. With an impressive average of 2.33 and an economical rate of just 3.50, she stifled opposing batters. She triumphed over a group of skilled bowlers, Roshni (I Teach Nerul), Nasreen (Gurukul), and Prachi Yadav (Mcgm A), who also took three wickets each. Her control and effectiveness ensured her place as the joint Purple Cap winner.
Fielding Leaders: Adiba Chaudhary
Fielding excellence played a decisive role throughout the tournament. Adiba Chaudhary from Rozario B stood out with three dismissals, including one outstanding catch and two run-outs. Matching her performance, Shifa Shaikh from Anjuman BSK C also made three decisive dismissals, underscoring the importance of athleticism and sharp reflexes in shaping match outcomes.

Shifa Shaikh from Anjuman BSK C was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player (MVP). Her versatile contributions, especially in the field, set her apart as a standout performer. Shifa’s all-round impact, combining runs, wickets, and ground-breaking fielding, played a pivotal role in her team’s championship run and earned her the tournament’s highest individual honour.
Rewards and Recognition
As the tournament celebrated its winners, the organisers ensured tangible rewards for the participating teams. Anjuman BSK C received prize money of ₹10,000 as champions, while runners-up Anjuman BSK B took home ₹7,500. The third and fourth-placed teams were also rewarded, each receiving ₹5,000. These acknowledgements reflected not only victory but the commitment and spirit of every girl who took the field.

The event was further elevated by a network of partners: as the equipment provider, Rotary Club for wellness, HomeoNutripathy (led by Dr. Smriti Jhunjhunwala) as medical support, and HR College as the nutrition partner. Notably, the tournament was accompanied by sanitation and menstrual health awareness sessions by Dr. Smriti Jhunjhunwala, empowering the young athletes with knowledge and resources beyond cricket itself.

The event extended far beyond runs and wickets. It championed hygiene and wellness, thanks to meaningful sessions on menstrual health by experts, and featured active collaborations to support girls well beyond the boundary ropes. This innovative approach empowered young cricketers as athletes and as informed individuals, breaking taboos through education and community.
