Gaze’s domestic career began in 2019 when she debuted for Auckland Hearts in the Super Smash against Wellington. Her early promise was interrupted when a collarbone fracture forced her to miss much of the 2020-21 season, but she returned stronger and more determined. With sharp glove work behind the stumps and the ability to stabilize an innings with the bat, she quickly became a regular for Auckland.

In September 2024, Gaze earned selection in the senior New Zealand squad for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, further cementing her status as one of the brightest young prospects in Kiwi cricket. A month later, she was also included in the ODI squad for the tour of India, a challenging assignment that reflected the team management’s faith in her long-term potential.
