The 10th edition of the Women’s T20 World Cup will take place from 12 June to 5 July 2026, across seven venues in England and Wales, with hosts England starting their campaign against Sri Lanka in the tournament opener at Edgbaston. Alongside the ticket launch, a star-studded promotional film featuring Andrew Flintoff, Lauren Bell, Ellyse Perry, Richa Ghosh, and Hayley Matthews has been unveiled to build anticipation for the landmark event.

The ICC’s new global campaign seeks to capture the vibrancy of women’s cricket and position the World Cup as a summer spectacle for fans worldwide. ICC Chairman Jay Shah hailed the launch as a milestone moment, noting that the combination of international stars and the home-ground atmosphere promise unforgettable moments. “This campaign captures the energy of a World Cup and the spirit of global competition, brought to life by some of women’s cricket’s biggest stars and the unmistakable charisma of Freddie Flintoff,” Shah said.

For Lauren Bell, the tournament carries special resonance as she recalls the lasting legacy of England’s triumph in the 2017 Women’s World Cup. “For me, Catch the Spirit means big crowds, big moments, and big energy,” Bell reflected. “Watching the girls win the 2017 World Cup is what motivated me to become a cricketer, and the opportunity to inspire fans across the country next summer is huge. We’ve seen the amazing impact the Lionesses have had on football, particularly after their home Euros, and we want this to be cricket’s moment!”

Star players around the world echoed similar excitement. Australia’s Ellyse Perry emphasised that the World Cup extends far beyond cricket itself. “World Cups are not just about the action on the field, it’s about the vibe it brings to cities, communities and families. Any world cricket event is special, and next year’s tournament promises to be incredible. Fans won’t want to miss out!” she said.

India’s rising wicketkeeper-batter Richa Ghosh underlined the importance of fan engagement, saying: “It’s all about the fans, the energy, the cheering, the noise. It’s going to be amazing to play in England and feel that vibe.”

Meanwhile, West Indies captain Hayley Matthews reflected on the global growth of women’s cricket. “Once upon a time, people used to say ‘watch women’s sports to support it’, whereas now I feel like people have recognised that it’s entertaining in its own right. It’s fun, it’s exciting, and this World Cup is going to be huge.”

The 12-team tournament will play out across iconic grounds, including Edgbaston, Old Trafford, Headingley, the Hampshire Bowl, the Bristol County Ground, The Oval, and Lord’s, ensuring that fans across England and Wales are part of the action. With tickets now available, the stage is being set for a month-long celebration of cricket that aims to match, and possibly surpass, the buzz of previous global women’s sporting events.

The ticket launch, combined with the fresh marketing campaign and powerful endorsements from cricket’s leading names, signals that the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 is gearing up to be a defining chapter in women’s cricket.
