In the ongoing Women’s Asia Cup 2024, India registered their second victory of the tournament by defeating the United Arab Emirates (UAE) by 78 runs. The result led fans to celebrate India’s second win in the 2024 Women’s Asia Cup.
India’s captain Harmanpreet Kaur and Richa Ghosh paved the way for India’s easy win over the UAE. Harmanpreet played an incredible innings of 66 runs off 47 balls, which included 7 boundaries and 1 six. Richa also played an excellent unbeaten innings of 64 runs in just 29 balls, consisting of 12 boundaries and 1 six. The solid partnership between these two batters led India to reach a total of 201 runs in 20 overs.
In the second innings, the UAE managed to score only 123/7 in their 20 overs. India’s magnificent bowling lineup successfully defended the target, securing 2 more important points and clearing the way to advance to the knockouts. Deepti Sharma took 2 wickets, while Renuka, Tanuja, Pooja, and Radha took 1 wicket each to help India defend the target. With this win, India strengthened their grip on top of the points table after registering 2 out of 2 victories.
