Superstars like Shweta Sehrawat, Tanisha Singh, Upasana Yadav, and Archana Devi were in action in the opening game of the 2nd season of the Delhi Women’s Premier League 2025.

The North Delhi Strikers got the opportunity to bat first, and the opening batters, Armeet Kaur and Upasana Yadav, got their side off to a steady start with a 16-run opening partnership. E Bhadana provided the first breakthrough for South Delhi Superstarz in the 4th over of the innings.

Nazma Khan joined Upasana Yadav at the crease, and the pair steadied the ship with a crucial 36-run partnership for the 2nd wicket, which also took their total past the 50-run mark.

Tanisha Singh broke the stand, by sending a promising Nazma Khan (18 off 20 balls) back to the pavilion in the 9th over of the innings to provide the 2nd breakthrough for her side. Skipper Ayushi Soni joined opening batter Upasana Yadav (23* off 31 balls), who was growing in confidence as the innings progressed.

However, the rains arrived in the 12th over of the innings to interrupt the proceedings, and the persistent nature of the rains ensured that there was no further play possible in the tournament opener. As a result, the game was abandoned.
