Skipper Shweta Sehrawat’s all-round show, Medhavi Bidhuri’s 3-fer gives South Delhi Superstarz their maiden title in an edge-of-the-seat thriller in Women’s Delhi Premier League 2025.

The South Delhi Superstarz qualified for the grand finale on the virtue of finishing at the top of the points table with five points from three games in the league stages of their campaign. The Central Delhi Queens made their way into the title clash as they finished 2nd on the points table with four points from three outings in the league stages of the tournament.
South Delhi Superstarz got the opportunity to put the runs on the board in the grand finale. The opening batters, Shivi Sharma and Tanishqa Singh, got their side off to a steady start with a 27-run opening partnership. A run-out ended Tanishqa Singh’s (14 off 13 balls) stay at the crease to provide the first breakthrough for the Central Delhi Queens in the 4th over of the innings.
Tanisha Singh joined Shivi Sharma at the crease, and the duo stitched a crucial 48-run partnership for the 2nd wicket to take their side closer to the 100-run mark. Priya Mishra broke the stand, by sending Tanisha Singh (28 off 23 balls) back to the pavilion in the 12th over of the innings to provide the 2nd breakthrough for her side.
The Central Delhi Queens bowlers kept the run-scoring in check as South Delhi Superstarz posted a total of 121/8 in their quota of 20 overs, managing just 46 runs after the departure of Tanisha Singh. Skipper Shweta Sehrawat (34 off 24 balls) provided the finishing touches with the bat for her side. Shivi Sharma (29 off 36 balls) played her part with the bat at the top of the order for her side.
Nidhi Mahto (4-0-24-2), Priya Mishra (4-0-19-2) and Saachi (2-0-7-2) were the top performers with the ball for Central Delhi Queens.
Chasing a tricky total of 122, the Central Delhi Queens had decent partnerships throughout the innings; however, they eventually fell short of the target by 1 run, as a clinical display of bowling from the likes of Medhavi Bidhuri (3-0-26-3), Himakshi Choudhary (4-0-18-2), skipper Shweta Sehrawat (1-0-15-1), Disha Nagar (4-0-13-1) and Tanisha Singh (4-0-26-1) all of them were amongst the wickets, while Ekta Bhadana (4-0-22-0) kept things tight during her spell, ensuring there were no easy runs on offer.
The 33-run partnership for the 6th wicket between Riya Shokeen (28* off 28 balls) and Monika (33 off 28 balls) was the highest partnership of the run chase. The win secured South Delhi Superstarz their maiden title in the 2nd edition of the tournament.
