South Africa have announced their 15-member squad for the ICC Women’s ODI World Cup 2025. Star opener Laura Wolvaardt has been entrusted with the captaincy, marking the start of their final preparations for the sport’s grandest stage.

The year 2025 has produced mixed results for the side, with 3 wins in 7 outings. Still, certain players have stood out with consistent performances. Tazmin Brits tops the batting charts with 371 runs, closely followed by Annerie Dercksen with 329 runs. On the bowling front, Nonkululeko Mlaba has led the attack superbly, claiming 13 wickets in 6 games, while Masabata Klaas chipped in with 8 wickets from just 4 appearances.
The journey has been far from smooth. In the Tri-Nation Series against India and hosts Sri Lanka, they managed just 1 win in 4 games. Despite the results, Dercksen’s form was a major highlight as she finished with 276 runs, the highest in the series, while Chloe Tryon contributed with 6 wickets. Their fortunes improved during the West Indies tour in June, where they secured a 2-1 series win. Brits scored 184 runs, Wolvaardt added 130, and Mlaba once again impressed with 7 wickets in 3 games.
