The eighteenth fixture of the fifth season of The Hundred Women’s 2025 brings an exciting clash between Birmingham Phoenix and the in-form London Spirit at Edgbaston, Birmingham. The contest will get underway at 07:30 PM IST on August 17, 2025.

The Phoenix are entering this encounter on the back of a tough defeat against Northern Superchargers, where their batting faltered, posting just 116/6 from 100 balls. Emily Arlott stood tall with an unbeaten 32 off 25, while Megan Schutt kept things tight with figures of 0/14 from 15 balls, but the effort wasn’t enough as the Superchargers chased with ease.
London Spirit, meanwhile, suffered their first loss of the season in their last outing against Trent Rockets. Despite a brilliant spell from Eva Gray (4/19 in 20 balls), the Rockets managed 150, and Spirit’s reply never gained momentum. Charli Knott fought hard with 33 off 25, but wickets tumbled around her as they fell short by 33 runs.

Players to watch out:
Emily Arlott
A cornerstone of Birmingham Phoenix since the inception of the tournament, Emily Arlott continues to deliver with both bat and ball. Against the Superchargers, she contributed a resilient 32* and followed it with a tidy 1/19. She has also struck in other key matches this season with figures of 2/25, 2/19, and 2/38, reaffirming her value. In 33 appearances, she has amassed 40 wickets and 210 runs, making her a vital cog in Phoenix’s setup.
Emma Lamb
The right-handed batting all-rounder, who switched from Manchester Originals to Phoenix in 2025, has already made her mark. Known for her ability to blend classical stroke play with aggressive intent, Lamb’s returns this season include scores of 55, 9, 25, and 8. Though yet to shine with the ball in this edition, her all-round potential makes her one to watch.
Charli Knott
The young Australian all-rounder has wasted no time in showcasing her class in her debut season for London Spirit. Her 47 off 33 against Welsh Fire was a standout knock, while across the season she has accumulated 90 runs and picked up 2 wickets. With the versatility to stabilize innings or provide the late flourish, Knott remains a dangerous dual threat.
Grace Harris
Explosive and fearless, Grace Harris has become Spirit’s middle-order powerhouse. She opened the season with a jaw-dropping 89* off just 42 balls against Oval Invincibles, followed by a fluent unbeaten 50 against Manchester Originals. Since joining Spirit in 2023, she has amassed 279 runs, with her latest knock being her highest in the competition. Harris’s clean hitting and ability to turn matches in a few overs make her indispensable.
Pitch:
Edgbaston is renowned for its hard, lively surface that offers bounce and carry, making it a paradise for stroke makers and an ally for seamers early on. Batters can trust the bounce to play their shots, but as the match progresses, spinners are likely to come into play with the surface offering grip and turn.
Weather:
Birmingham is set for a hot day, with temperatures soaring around 25°C under partly sunny skies. There is almost no chance of rain with precipitation at 0%. Humidity will be around 66% with winds blowing at 14 kph.
