Northern Superchargers Women created history by winning their first-ever Hundred title after a clinical performance against Southern Brave in the 2025 final. The Superchargers chased down a modest target of 116 with 12 balls to spare, sealing a 7-wicket victory at Lord’s.

Asked to bat first, Southern Brave never really got going as they kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Opener Maia Bouchier (13 off 11) got a start but couldn’t convert, while her partner Danni Wyatt-Hodge (25 off 20) looked in touch before being dismissed by Annabel Sutherland. Overseas stars Sophie Devine (23 off 28) and Chloe Tryon (5* off 10) consumed too many balls, adding to Brave’s woes.
Young all-rounder Freya Kemp (26 off 16) provided a late flourish with some aggressive stroke play, but none of the other batters were able to support her. Skipper Georgia Adams (1) fell cheaply, leaving Brave reeling at 94/6.
Some resistance came from Mady Villiers (17* off 11) at the back end, but Brave could only manage 115/6 in 100 balls. For Superchargers, the bowlers kept things tight — Kate Cross (2/23) and Annabel Sutherland (2/23) were the pick of the attack, while the others bowled with great discipline.
In response, Northern Superchargers began confidently with Davina Perrin (17 off 16) providing a brisk start before falling to Devine. Alice Davidson-Richards (7 off 9) followed soon after, but Phoebe Litchfield (26 off 13) shifted the momentum with her explosive stroke play, striking four boundaries and a six.
Once Litchfield departed, the experienced duo of Annabel Sutherland (28* off 25) and Nicola Carey (35* off 25) guided the chase with calm and authority. Carey, in particular, showed nerves of steel in the pressure situation, ensuring there were no hiccups as the Superchargers reached 119/3 in 88 balls, winning by 7 wickets.
For Brave, none of the bowlers could maintain sustained pressure, with Sophie Devine (1/21), Mady Villiers (1/29) and Chloe Tryon (1/19) being the only ones among the wickets.
This victory was special for the Superchargers, who peaked at the right time. Earlier in the season, they had managed to win only 2 out of their first 4 matches and also suffered a setback when all-rounder Georgia Wareham was ruled out due to injury. However, her replacement, Nicola Carey, proved to be a masterstroke, shining throughout the campaign and delivering a Player of the Match performance in the final with her composed 35* off 25 balls.
Meanwhile, the consistency of Phoebe Litchfield (292 runs in 10 matches) made her one of the standout batters of the tournament, while all-rounders Annabel Sutherland (16 wickets) and Kate Cross (15 wickets) played pivotal roles with the ball.
For Southern Brave, this loss will be hard to digest. After winning the title in 2023, they once again stumbled in the final. Having already suffered heartbreaks in 2021 and 2022 as runners-up, Brave’s defeat in 2025 adds to their painful history of near misses.
