The Women’s Caribbean Premier League (WCPL) continues to break new ground as it ushers in its 4th edition from September 6, 2025. This year, the tournament boasts a fresh infusion of Indian talent, with three dynamic cricketers, Shreyanka Patil, Shikha Pandey, and the uncapped Salonee Dangore, poised to leave their mark. Here’s a deep dive into what each player brings to the table and what their signings mean for the league.

Shreyanka Patil: A Trailblazer Returns to WCPL
Shreyanka Patil’s name is etched in WCPL history as the first Indian woman to participate in the league, having debuted with the Guyana Amazon Warriors in 2023. After missing the 2024 edition, her signing by the defending champions, Barbados Royals, marks a much-anticipated comeback.
She was the leading wicket-taker of the tournament, 9 wickets in 5 matches, bowling at an exceptional average of 11.66 and an economy of just 5.83, in the 2023 season. She famously produced a four-wicket haul, underlining her knack for delivering in crunch moments.
Since debuting for India in December 2023, Shreyanka has taken 20 T20I wickets at 19.20 apiece, with an economy of 6.73 across 16 innings. Across the first two editions in the Women’s Premier League (WPL), representing the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), Patil played 15 matches and bagged 19 wickets at an average of 18.36 and an economy rate of 8.51, with two four-wicket hauls and a best of 4/12. With the bat, she scored 81 runs at a blazing strike rate of 147.27 and an average of 27 in 11 innings. Notably, she missed the 2025 WPL season due to injury.
Patil’s ability to deliver in high-pressure situations, both with the ball and as a lower-order hitter, makes her a match-winner. Her all-round skills and previous WCPL heroics position her as a pivotal figure in the Royals’ title defence.
Shikha Pandey: Experience and Versatility for TKR
Veteran all-rounder Shikha Pandey brings a wealth of experience and adaptability to the Trinbago Knight Riders, who have re-signed her after a promising debut in the previous WCPL season. In 2024, Pandey played a key role for TKR, picking up 4 wickets in 5 matches at an average of 29.75 and an economy of 6.80. Her contributions weren’t limited to the ball; she also scored 90 runs at an average of 18.00 and a strike rate of 92.78, with a top score of 30.
On the international stage, Pandey has been a reliable presence for Team India. Over 56 T20I innings, she has taken 43 wickets at an average of 26.16 and an economy of 6.49. With the bat, she has scored 208 runs at a strike rate of 79.08 and an average of 13 in 28 innings.
Her impact in franchise cricket is equally noteworthy. For Delhi Capitals in the WPL, Pandey has played 27 matches and claimed 30 wickets at an average of 23.20 and an economy of 6.96, with the best of 3/23. She has also chipped in with the bat, scoring 93 runs at a strike rate of 114.81 and an average of 23.25 in 10 innings across the first three editions.
Expanding her horizons, Pandey made her Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) debut for Brisbane Heat in the 2024/25 season. She picked up 12 wickets in 12 innings at an average of 24.16 and an economy of 6.90. Pandey’s proven ability to adapt to different conditions, her experience in global leagues, and her dual role as a bowler and lower-order batter make her an invaluable asset for TKR’s campaign this season.
Salonee Dangore: Chhattisgarh’s Uncapped Gem Ready to Leave Her Mark
Salonee Dangore, the uncapped leg-spin all-rounder from Chhattisgarh, is set to make her WCPL debut with the Trinbago Knight Riders. Her rise in domestic cricket has been nothing short of impressive. In the 2024 Senior Women’s One Day Trophy, she led Chhattisgarh’s bowling attack, finishing as the leading wicket-taker with 15 wickets in 6 matches.
Her T20 record is equally strong, with 31 wickets at an average of 17.52 and an economy rate of 5.32 in 36 innings. With the bat, she has scored 103 runs at a strike rate of 81.10 in 16 innings, highlighting her all-round capabilities. Dangore’s professional growth has been rapid. She was a net bowler for Delhi Capitals in WPL 2025, a role that reflects her rising stock in Indian domestic cricket and her readiness for the big stage.
Her leg-spin and lower-order hitting provide the Trinbago Knight Riders with flexibility and depth, making her a valuable addition to the squad. The WCPL offers Dangore a global platform to showcase her talent and potentially announce herself as the next big thing in Indian cricket.
The inclusion of Shreyanka Patil, Shikha Pandey, and Salonee Dangore in WCPL 2025 is a testament to the growing global appeal of Indian women’s cricket. With a blend of international pedigree, franchise success, and domestic promise, these players are set to elevate the standard of the league and inspire countless young cricketers back home.
