South Africa’s Tazmin Brits Records Career-Best in Latest ICC ODI Rankings Update

South Africa, led by skipper Laura Wolvaardt, sealed the ODI series with a 2-1 margin against the West Indies, captained by Hayley Matthews. The top performers of the series have been rewarded with a rise in rankings, most notably Tazmin Brits, who has achieved her career-best ranking.

Batting Rankings:

The Australian skipper Alyssa Healy climbed up one spot to the 6th position (679 points). Naruemol Chaiwai from Thailand has climbed up a couple of places to equal the 67th position (370 points) alongside Shemaine Campbelle from the West Indies.

South Africa:

Opening batter Tazmin Brits was the leading run-scorer of the ODI series against the West Indies with 184 runs at a strike rate of 87.61 and an average of 61.33 in three innings with the bat, for her side in the series against the West Indies. As a result, she has earned a significant rise as she has climbed up 6 spots to the 21st position (582 points).

West Indies:

Stafanie Taylor scored 47 runs in a couple of innings with the bat for her side in the series against South Africa. She has climbed up a couple of spots to the 46th position (478 points). Aaliyah Alleyne scored 34 runs in three innings at a strike rate of 60.71 and an average of 17 with the bat for her side in the series against South Africa. She has climbed up three spots to the 77th position (346 points).

Bowling Rankings:

South Africa:

Marizanne Kapp picked up three wickets at an average of 16.33 and an economy of 4.90 in a couple of innings with the ball for her side in the series against the West Indies. As a result, she has climbed up a couple of spots to the 7th position (639 points).

Nonkululeko Mlaba ended as the leading wicket-taker for her side and the 2nd highest wicket-taker of the series with 7 wickets at an average of 11.42 and an economy of 3.47 in three innings with the ball for her side in the series against the West Indies. As a result, she has climbed up three spots to the 20th position (520 points).

Masabata Klaas dismantled the West Indian batting line-up by picking up a four-wicket haul in the 3rd and final ODI of the series at an economy of 4.16 in her spell of 6 overs. As a result of her outstanding performance with the ball, she has earned a significant rise as she has climbed up 6 spots to equal the 37th position (432 points) alongside Sugandika Kumari from Sri Lanka.

All-rounder Rankings:

Maddy Green from New Zealand has climbed up a couple of spots to equal the 99th position (44 points) alongside Robine Rijke from the Netherlands, who has also climbed up a couple of spots, and Eliz-Mari Marx from South Africa.

South Africa:

Nonkululeko Mlaba climbed up a couple of spots to the 33rd position (120 points), alongside Aaliyah Alleyne from the West Indies, who picked up four wickets at an average of 33.25 and an economy of 6.38 in three innings with the ball and scored 34 runs in three innings with the bat for her side in the recently concluded white-ball series between South Africa and the West Indies.

Sune Luus ended as the 3rd highest run-scorer of the series with 112 runs at a strike rate of 86.82 and an average of 37.33 in three innings with the bat for her side, including a half-century. She also chipped in with economical spells with the ball for her side, as and when needed. As a result of her impressive all-round contributions, she has earned a significant rise as she has climbed up 7 spots to the 39th position (111 points).

West Indies:

Afy Fletcher, apart from being the leading wicket-taker of the ODI series against South Africa, also chipped in with 22 runs at a strike rate of 81.48 in a couple of innings with the bat for her side in the series. As a result of her contributions, she has climbed up one spot to equal the 47th position (96 points) alongside Pakistan’s Diana Baig, who climbed up a couple of spots.

Karishma Ramharack picked up three wickets in three innings and scored 4 runs with the bat for her side. She has climbed up one spot to the 61st position (78 points).
