The Cambodia cricket team recently toured Singapore for a three-match series, held from August 13 to August 16. All matches were played at the Singapore National Cricket Ground. The hosts, Singapore, led by captain Shafina Mahesh, completed a clean sweep against the visiting Cambodia side, winning the series 3-0 and lifting the trophy.

First T20I – August 13, 2025, at Singapore National Cricket Ground
In the first T20I, Singapore won the toss and elected to bat. Captain Shafina Mahesh opened the innings alongside Devika Galia, but Galia was dismissed early by Loch Srey. Vinu Kumar then joined Shafina at the crease, and the pair built a solid partnership of 116 runs for the second wicket. Vinu narrowly missed out on a well-deserved half-century, while Shafina remained unbeaten on 58, anchoring the innings. Late cameos from Roshni Seth and GK Diviya further boosted Singapore’s total to 151/3 in their 20 overs. Despite an overall undisciplined bowling display from Cambodia, Loch Srey, Dok Da Nit, and Phoup Srey Pheak managed to pick up one wicket each.
The chase for Cambodia began disastrously as they lost their captain, Pech Pisa, on the very first ball of the innings to opposing skipper Shafina Mahesh. None of the batters managed to reach double digits, except opener Ly Saomakara, who top-scored with 10 runs. The visitors struggled throughout the innings, losing wickets at regular intervals and were eventually bowled out for just 26 runs in 11 overs. Captain Mahesh led the bowling attack once again, taking 3 wickets. Riyaa Bhasin and Haresh Dhavina picked up 2 wickets each, while Laasya Bommareddy and Ada Bhasin chipped in with one wicket apiece.
Result: Singapore won by 125 runs
Second T20I – August 14, 2025, at Singapore National Cricket Ground
In the second T20I, Singapore once again won the toss and chose to bat first. This time, Loch Srey struck early, clean bowling Player of the Match from the previous game, Shafina Mahesh, for 6. Despite the early blow, opener Devika Galia anchored the innings with an impressive 45. Later, GK Diviya played a quickfire knock of 28 off 19 balls, while Piumi Gurusinghe added a steady 20* off 23 deliveries, guiding Singapore to a solid total of 148 in their 20 overs. Loch Srey continued her strong performance with the ball, claiming 2 wickets. Ly Saomakara also picked up 2 wickets, while Heal Theara and Dok Da Nit chipped in with one each.
Cambodia’s chase faltered from the outset, with Singapore skipper Shafina Mahesh striking in just the second ball of the innings to remove Ly Saomakara. The Cambodian batters once again failed to build partnerships and crumbled under pressure, losing wickets at regular intervals. Five batters were dismissed without scoring, and the team was bowled out for just 34 runs. Laasya Bommareddy starred with the ball, taking 4 wickets, while Shafina Mahesh, Roshni Seth, and Haresh Dhavina contributed with 2 wickets apiece.
Result: Singapore won by 114 runs
Third T20I – August 16, 2025, at Singapore National Cricket Ground
In the final T20I, Cambodia won the toss and elected to bowl first. However, the decision quickly backfired as Singapore captain Shafina Mahesh once again displayed excellent form. After the early dismissal of Devika Galia for a duck, Vinu Kumar joined Mahesh at the crease, and the duo steadied the innings with a vital 78-run partnership. Mahesh went on to register her second half century of the series, anchoring the innings with a composed 68 before being dismissed. Another late cameo from GK Diviya, who hammered 20* runs off just 8 balls, propelled Singapore to an imposing total of 171 in their 20 overs.
Phoup Srey Pheak and Sok Srey Maov were the only wicket-takers for Cambodia, claiming two wickets each.
This time, although the visitors managed to avoid losing a wicket in the first over, their start was relatively slow given the target of 172. Ada Bhasin struck the first blow, dismissing Cambodian captain Pech Pisa. While Cambodia didn’t lose wickets as rapidly as in the previous matches, the Singapore bowlers maintained tight lines and restricted scoring opportunities throughout the innings. Contributions from Ly Saomakara, Nang Vichara, and Dok Da Nit helped Cambodia cross the 50-run mark for the first time in the series. However, it wasn’t enough, as the visitors were restricted to just 69 runs after batting out the full 20 overs.
Ada Bhasin was the standout performer with the ball, delivering an exceptional spell of 3 wickets for just 1 run in her 4 overs. She was well supported by her twin, Riyaa Bhasin, who claimed one wicket, and Haresh Dhavina, who picked up two wickets to further dent Cambodia’s chase.
Result: Singapore won by 102 runs
In summary, Singapore’s dominant performance throughout the series, led by the consistent and inspiring captain Shafina Mahesh, secured a comprehensive 3-0 clean sweep over Cambodia. Strong batting partnerships and disciplined bowling ensured Singapore’s control in every match.
Cambodia showed glimpses of fight but struggled to match the hosts’ intensity and experience. Hopefully, Cambodia will take valuable lessons from this experience and continue to develop their skills. Hoping for more opportunities and exposure like this, we look forward to seeing them grow and compete strongly in their future matches.
