India’s 15-member squad for the ICC Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 was officially announced on 19th August, marking the beginning of their final preparations for the tournament. Harmanpreet Kaur will lead the side, with Smriti Mandhana as her deputy.

India will be entering the tournament riding on form and confidence. In 2024-5, they have nine wins from 11 games. Mandhana leads the run charts with 628, closely followed by Pratika Rawal with 569. Rana tops the bowling with 18 wickets, and Deepti Sharma’s 249 runs with 13 wickets underline her balance. All of whom have made the cut to the World Cup squad.
India’s squad for ICC Women’s ODI World Cup 2025:
Harmanpreet Kaur (C), Smriti Mandhana (VC), Pratika Rawal, Harleen Deol, Deepti Sharma, Jemimah Rodrigues, Renuka Singh Thakur, Arundhati Reddy, Richa Ghosh (WK), Kranti Gaud, Amanjot Kaur, Radha Yadav, Sree Charani, Yastika Bhatia (WK), Sneh Rana
Their year opened with a commanding 3-0 win over Ireland, highlighted by a record 435/5 — the fourth-highest total in women’s ODI history — and a massive 304-run victory. That match saw Rawal blast 154 off 129 balls while Smriti Mandhana hammered 135 from 80 deliveries.
Momentum carried forward into the tri-series in Sri Lanka featuring South Africa, where India lifted the trophy with Mandhana scoring 264 runs, Jemimah Rodrigues adding 245, and Sneh Rana returning with 15 wickets. On the England tour, the decisive third ODI was settled by Harmanpreet Kaur’s 102 and Kranti Goud’s 6/52, sealing a rare back-to-back series win in English conditions.
Statistically, India’s rise since the 2022 World Cup has been impressive: 24 wins from 35 matches, with only eight defeats spread across five teams. Yet, this campaign marks a new era — the first time India heads to a World Cup without the guiding presence of Mithali Raj and Jhulan Goswami, who once carried them to finals in 2005 and 2017.
Before the tournament begins, India faces Australia in a three-match ODI series starting September 14, followed by warm-ups against England (September 25) and New Zealand (September 27). Their official World Cup campaign begins in Guwahati against Sri Lanka.
