Arundhati Reddy’s cricketing journey began in Hyderabad, Telangana, where her natural inclination for fast bowling was nurtured by her family and refined in the state’s domestic system. A bustling right-arm seamer, she built her reputation on energy, accuracy, and the ability to swing the ball—qualities that eventually made her one of the few Indian women trusted with the new ball at the international level.

Her rise through the ranks was built on consistent performances—first with Hyderabad until the 2016/17 season and later with the star-studded Railways side, efforts that eventually propelled her into India’s emerging squads. In 2018, she earned her maiden India cap, debuting in T20Is against Sri Lanka. Over the next few years, she became a regular in India’s T20I setup.

Since the inception of the Women’s Premier League in 2023, Reddy has been a key part of the Delhi Capitals setup, picking up 14 wickets from 17 innings, with a best of 2/27. Her domestic and franchise experience laid the foundation for her ODI breakthrough.

After nearly six years of international cricket in the shortest format, she made her ODI debut in June 2024 against South Africa. In just 9 matches, she has claimed 11 wickets, highlighted by a career-best 4/26 against Australia in their own backyard—a spell that saw her dismiss the formidable top four of Phoebe Litchfield, Georgia Voll, Ellyse Perry, and Beth Mooney.

But Reddy’s impact extends beyond numbers. She is often the energy hub on the field, a tireless new-ball bowler in a spin-dominated attack, and a reliable option when India needs breakthroughs. Heading into the 2025 Women’s World Cup, her maiden appearance at the tournament, she stands as part of India’s senior pace core—seasoned, disciplined, and aggressive.
