Match 3 of the Women’s Delhi Premier League 2025 saw the South Delhi Superstarz Women face off against the East Delhi Riders Women at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on August 19, 2025. After their previous match was abandoned, South Delhi Superstarz Women were eager to make a statement. Led by captain Shweta Sehrawat, who scored 31* runs off 14 deliveries with two fours and two sixes striking at 221.42, their batting lineup featured aggressive stroke makers.

However, East Delhi’s bowlers, particularly Vanshika Lila and Purva Siwach, kept the scoring in check with disciplined line and length after the initial overs. South Delhi managed to put together a competitive total thanks to useful contributions from the middle order including Shweta Sehrawat and Shivi Sharma (14* off 7) who gave a finishing hand to the first innings, but never fully capitalized on the batting-friendly conditions.

East Delhi’s batting, which struggled in their previous outing, needed a turnaround. Openers Priya Punia (15 runs off 10 balls) and Vanshika Lila (17 runs off 14) made a solid start, laying the foundation with a disciplined approach. The middle-order, often their weakness, showed resilience this time, trying to keep out South Delhi’s attack.

However, frequent wickets at crucial junctures frustrated the chase and prevented any batter from anchoring a match-winning partnership. A disciplined South Delhi bowling saw East Delhi Riders restricted to 58/7 in the rain-affected 8-over contest.

For South Delhi, the bowling unit led by Disha Nagar (2-0-8-1) and Medhavi Bidhuri (2-0-9-2) made the most of the moment, picking crucial wickets through tight spells in the middle overs. On East Delhi’s side, Priya Punia and Vanshika Lila stood out, both with the bat and ball. The small boundaries gave batters chances, but bowlers’ accuracy prevailed when it mattered most.

Shweta Sehrawat delivered a composed and impactful batting performance for South Delhi Superstarz Women anchoring the innings with smart shot selection and steady scoring, helping her team recover after early setbacks and post a competitive total. Her calm presence and adaptability at the crease were key to stabilizing the innings during crucial moments.

She was also awarded the Player of the Match award for her brilliant and quick innings of 31* runs off 14 deliveries striking at 221.42 that took South Delhi Superstarz Women to a respectable total.

The third game was crucial for both sides; East Delhi Riders Women were left wondering how to solve their batting problems, while South Delhi Superstarz won their first game of the season. The result reshaped tournament momentum, boosting South Delhi’s playoff hopes and leaving East Delhi on the brink of elimination, needing immediate recovery in future matches.
