Bulgaria is hosting Greece, Turkey, and Serbia from July 7th to 9th, 2025. Turkey were all set to face Serbia and Greece, while hosts Bulgaria were all set to face Serbia on the opening day of the quadrangular series.

Ezgi Nur Kilic’s all-round contributions give Turkey women a nervy win

Turkey posted a competitive total of 118/7 in their quota of 20 overs on the back of handy partnerships throughout the innings, after skipper Goksu Ayan won the toss and opted to bat first. Most of the Turkish batters entered the double digits, while the wicket-keeper batter Ruvedya Cenik (29* off 32 balls) top-scored with the bat for her side. Sofia-nefeli Georgota (4-0-17-3), Adamanita Makri (4-0-29-2), Maria-afroditi Vervitsioti (4-0-24-1), and Aggelliki Savvani (4-0-18-0) were the top performers with the ball for Greece.

Chasing a target of 119, Greece fell agonisingly short of the target by two runs as they were restricted to 116/9 in their quota of 20 overs, courtesy of Impeccable bowling from the Turkish unit, who registered their first win in international cricket. Adamanita Makri (28 off 17 balls), Aggeliki Savvani (18 off 27 balls), and Maria Polimeri (11 off 13 balls) chipped in with vital contributions with the bat for Greece. Serbia restricted hosts Bulgaria to 113/8 in their quota of 20 overs, after skipper Sladjana Matijevic won the toss and opted to bowl first in the 2nd game of the series. Slaveya Galabova (30 off 29 balls) and Katrin Srandeva (13* off 21 balls) were the lone warriors with the bat for Bulgaria. The 34-run partnership for the 5th wicket between Bilyana Shotorova and Slaveya Galabova was the highest partnership of the innings for Bulgaria. Nadja Nojic (4-0-25-3), skipper Sladjana Matijevic (4-0-17-2), Ana Mesarovic (4-0-15-1), and Maja Jevdjenovic (4-0-23-1) were the star performers with the ball for Serbia.

Chasing a target of 114, Serbia got over the line with 8 wickets in hand and 27 balls to spare. The 59-run opening partnership between Milica Perisic and Tamra Trajkovic (46* off 56 balls) was the highest partnership, taking the fizz out of the run chase. Magdalena Nikolic (24* off 17 balls) chipped in with a crucial contribution with the bat, guiding her side over the line. Bilyana Shotorova (3-0-18-1) and Gabriela Ilarionova (4-0-29-1) were the only wicket-takers with the ball for the home side, Bulgaria.

Gulhatun Keles’ fifty helps Turkey women register consecutive wins

Turkey posted a massive total of 180/5 in their quota of 20 overs, on the back of an enterprising half-century from Gulhatun Keles after the skipper, Goksu Ayan, won the toss and opted to bat first in the 3rd game of the opening day of the quadrangular series in Bulgaria. Melike Bayram (25 off 14 balls), Ezgi Nur Kilic (25 off 24 balls), and Suzan Turan (18 off 17 balls) chipped in with impactful contributions with the bat for Turkey. Ana Mesarovic (3-0-24-2), skipper Sladjana Matijevic (4-0-26-1), and Marija Trajkovi (2-0-12-1) were impressive with the ball for Serbia.

Chasing a massive target of 181, the Serbian batters succumbed to the scoreboard pressure as they were bundled out for 117, with 9 balls to spare. As a result, they fell 63 runs short of the target. The 39-run opening partnership between Melicia Perisic and Ana Mesarovic (28 off 23 balls) was the highest partnership of the run chase. Tamara Trajkovic (13 off 18 balls) was the only other batter to enter the double digits with the bat for Serbia. Suzan Turan (4-0-16-2), Duygu Tekyildirim (4-0-18-2), Hacer Celik (3.3-0-17-1), and skipper Goksu Ayan (4-0-28-2) were the top performers with the ball for Turkey.
